Description: Item/Description: WWI US Army Cavalry Saber Patton Sword with scabbard. Blade marked US / LF&C 1918 With flaming grenade (bursting bomb).
Landers, Frary & Clark was a housewares company based in New Britain, Connecticut and operated from 1865 -1965. During the US involvement in World War I the company temporarily manufactured equipment including all of the sabers for the United States cavalry. This model was originally designed by second lieutenant George S. Patton, who would become the famed general.
Material: Metal
Dimensions: Overall sword length: 42"; Blade length: 35". Scabbard length: 36".
Condition: Oxidation to scabbard. Blade shows some discoloration mainly at top of blade.
